What you GIVE is what you GET

What you GIVE is what you GET

Yes, it’s that time of the year, the time where we get caught up in family celebrations, friends, good food, drinks, and lots of cheer. But it’s also that time of year where it’s very easy to get wrapped up (no pun intended) in the stress and busy-ness of it all.

I love that Thanksgiving is right before Christmas and Hanukkah because it’s the perfect mental prep for the more stressful holidays. Unfortunately, the holidays tend to focus a lot on gift giving and spreading ourselves too thin, so Thanksgiving is a time to just be together enjoying each others company and appreciating everything we have.

I also love that it’s centered around a meal made of delicious food. I try really hard to make this meal full of yummy food that nourishes our bodies. Food has brought people together for years and there is something about making food and sharing it with the people you love that feels good deep down in your soul.

I also make the day about honoring the people in my life. Telling family and friends how much they truly mean to me and appreciating them is my intention during the day and it feels fantastic. I find that the more love I give the more love I feel.

I hope your Thanksgiving holiday is full of love and gratitude, I’m sending you some as well.

Fall…are you there?

Fall…are you there?

It’s October! Can you believe it?! Fall has arrived for most of the country, here in Florida we are still feeling the heat so I have decided to do a little blog this week to jumpstart Fall.

Fall and Spring have these magical powers about them, it’s the one time that change feels so good.

Pumpkin everything, leaves changing, apple picking, cosy sweaters, hot cocoa, good books, family dinners, are just a few of what I love about this time of year.

I love anything that feels clean, modern with a hint of traditional. Fusing my love for authentic artisanal details with a minimalist undertone.

Share with me your favorite Fall traditions, I would love some new ideas.

Till Next Week,

They're Here!

They're Here!

I always look forward to this time of year, because it feels like a brand new start. The Fall Collection unveiling gets me so excited because it’s time for some newness. Can’t you feel the energy?!

I mentioned in a previous blog all about my inspiration for this collection, go back and read it HERE. But I didn’t get to show you the actual pieces. That’s what I’m going to do today.

There are so many pieces and it truly is hard to pick, but for you I’m going to share my favorite pieces. I have put together a few little groups of my favorite earrings, rings, necklaces and bracelets to make it easy.

This collection is truly one of the most wearable for mix and matching. All the pieces can layer well and some of my favorite combos are: big earrings + chunky bracelets (at least three) or layered necklaces (one close to the neck and one longer) + a big ring.

Take a look and let me know your favorites, I am sure there will be more than one.

Till Next Week,

My Inspiration - FALL '17

My Inspiration - FALL '17

Excited to share something I've been working on for a while...my Fall '17 Collection inspiration. I've talked about how I get inspired on the blog before so you have an idea about my process but this week I want to talk about the inspiration mood board behind the collection.

It won't be too much of a surprise for you guys because you know how much I LOVE New Mexico and the Native American culture. I spend so much time there that I had the chance for this collection to be very thoughtful and intentional.

I created a mood board for this collection and am sharing a lot of the images here with you. I wanted the feeling to be bold and sacred while invoking an energy of spirit. Spirit that lives in the earth, the water, the plants and the people.

The colors I used this time around represent elements of this culture like, light green jade, smoky topaz, red tigers eye, moonstone, etc. The color story is light.

I found these colors in the textiles and homes around the area. I also took a note from mother nature and used her majestic beauty as a compass. I wanted to focus on simplicity, this has been a huge word for me throughout the year. Getting back to the basic elements of my design and my inspiration.

I think we all tend to make everything more complicated that it has to be. The beauty is right there in front of us, as pure and simple as possible. I hope you enjoy this collection.

Go check out the collection on the website HERE!

MAKING MY KITCHEN THE CENTER OF IT ALL (RENOVATION UPDATE)!

MAKING MY KITCHEN THE CENTER OF IT ALL (RENOVATION UPDATE)!
I have a new hobby (besides this renovation) and It’s cooking. I have always enjoyed cooking because well, it’s a necessity but recently I have decided to take cooking seriously. I want to get really good at it and more importantly, I want to fully enjoy the experience.
Stephanie Kantis
The timing is perfect for my new hobby because as we are renovating our new home, and I’m focusing on the kitchen. Anthony and I really want the kitchen to be the center of our home. We want people to gather there to feed their souls and their stomachs.
My idea is to create a Chef’s Kitchen with all the trimmings. I have spent lots of time and attention into the details and the materials, to ensure that this space feels clean and organic. A place to get creative and make memories.

I want to slow down every day to focus and put attention on the food I make and what I feed my family. This involves all the senses. Touching the produce, hearing the sounds in the kitchen, smelling the smells and seeing the colors of the rainbow. I believe that being fully involved in all aspects of eating develops presence and gratefulness for our bodies and our food.

We are so lucky to have a beautiful farmer’s market just steps away from our new home. Anthony and I are so excited to spend Saturday’s picking our favorite seasonal veggies and fruits and cooking in our beautiful new kitchen. I can’t wait to share the finished product.
Cheers!

HOW TO WEAR A CHOKER AT ANY AGE & MY FAVORITE FALL TRENDS

HOW TO WEAR A CHOKER AT ANY AGE & MY FAVORITE FALL TRENDS

I have been so excited lately, because I’m loving all the new fall fashions. It’s finally getting a bit cooler here in Florida and I love any excuse to mix up my sandals and shorts. As I find myself covering up, I am always looking for new ways to wear my jewelry, here are some ideas you might want to try.

Stephanie Kantis Fall 2016 Choker

While the choker trend has been around for a few seasons, I’m really loving it for Fall. The above image is from the Ralph Lauren runway, and he always knows how to make any trend super classy.
I’ve had some friends asking me how to make chokers work for any age and I have a few easy tips. Remember that you can make a choker out most chains. Almost all my chains are adjustable, so you can DIY a choker out of a piece you already own. Just play around with the length and make sure that the chain hits as close to the neck as possible, without it being uncomfortable. You can even double up a chain if it’s long enough, play around and find a style that suits you.
Also, this Fall we are seeing a ton of opulent fabrics like velvet and embroidered jackets making their way to the stores. As well as lots of mixing of materials and metals. This makes me so happy because my Fall collection has so many great mixed metal pieces incorporating gold and charcoal to create this rich vibe that goes perfectly with a velvet slip dress or silk bomber jacket. Any of the pieces from the Sunburst collection would pair beautifully with these trends right now, can’t wait to play around and find my favorite combinations.

Happy Accessorizing.

MORE SEASONAL, LESS SCARY

MORE SEASONAL, LESS SCARY

I know that Halloween is a huge holiday for super creative decorations. I really enjoy seeing all the amazing creations from baked goods to costume ideas, but this is one holiday that I truly believe that less is more.   Halloween has really turned into more of a gruesome event than the fun light-hearted tradition it once was. I like to focus on clean seasonal decorations for this time of year, it’s my take on a modern Halloween.
One of my favorite tips is to re-think the traditional Jack-o’-lantern. It’s easy to do too. Instead of creating scary faces on the pumpkins, I like to carve out the meat and place beautiful flowers inside, using the pumpkin as a decorative vase. This adds a holiday touch plus you can keep them out all Fall long.   Let me know some of your favorite decorating tips for this time of year, I’d love to hear from you.
Till next week,
