Red, White and Party!

Red, White and Party!

This weekend is the biggest birthday party of the year, Go USA! I can really feel the summer buzz once this holiday hits. It’s full of patriotic feelings and all the other fun stuff that goes along with it like food, friends and outdoor fun.

I also love that family traditions seem to be important around this holiday. I love decorating in subtle ways that reflect the history of traditional Americana but in a modern way. I challenge myself every year to find a few new ways to celebrate while still keeping some of the great older traditions I have.

I have been pinning a lot of new ideas and doing some shopping getting ready for this weekend so I thought I would share.

I also am including a few recipes I have made that I love! I hope this helps you while getting ready for this weekend and making your holiday as beautiful and effortless as possible.

Have a Happy 4th of July,

Summer Solstice

Summer Solstice

The Summer Solstice was this week and I don’t know about you but I’m a mix of excitement, (Summer is Here!) and anxiety (the year is half over, how did that happen?!).

I think it’s a perfect time to use both of these energies. Let’s get excited about the second half of the year. I know you have a list somewhere that you made way back in January that’s hidden in a file or on a desktop. Pull it out and now’s the time to remind yourself of those goals, dreams, ideas, etc.

Now that you have these reminders in front of you, you need some motivation.  I have pulled together some of my favorite up-lifting, butt-kicking quotes, words, images below. So take it all in and when you’re done, take some action! I am right here cheering you on.

A FINE little sneak peak

A FINE little sneak peak

This week I’m sharing something I’ve been wanting to share for a while now, but have had to keep it under wraps, but I can’t hold it in any more.

KANTIS Fine Jewelry is coming! That’s right. I’ve been working on a fine jewelry line for a while now and this Fall it’s coming to life. Now, I don’t have any images to share just yet, but I wanted to give you all a little sneak peak into the collection and inspiration.

Starting around September the collection will be sold at Saks Fifth Avenue and online at stephaniekantis.com. We're also doing something a little different and will have the collection in a few select fine jewelry stores across the country.

I have been thinking a lot lately about simplifying and this collection is a manifestation of that. It is clean and streamlined, and it references interior design ascetics I’ve always loved.

We are using solid sterling silver, rose gold and yellow gold, along with Mother of Pearl, Onyx and Hematite. These pieces are understated and not showy. I wanted this collection to be about the pieces we love to wear everyday, the pieces that become who we are. I can’t wait to show you some pictures. Hold tight! The best is yet to come.

Moving IN!

Moving IN!
So, this week we have finally moved into the new condo and while the renovations aren’t done (are they ever!) I wanted to share some fun pictures and what we did. I hope it inspires you or at least gives you a little design break from your day.
This is the fabulous view I see in the morning when I wake up! This is overlooking the east, the inter-coastal and out towards Palm Beach Island. That ocean is already inspiring me.
We don't have the glass in for the balcony yet so I'm following around my kitty, Star to make sure he doesn't jump off. It’s a full time job so far, ha!
I love to have a few " deep thinkers" around along with a fabulous round marble coffee table and a little reminder of my husband's Texas roots with the horns!

The pieces are handmade by women artisans in India and I adore this mirror frame. It’s important to have things you love around.
Some of my favorite collected pieces are  – this Indian wedding chest… I can just feel the history of families loading it with goods for their daughter's dowery. I have made this a bar and of course a place for memories.
This is the main living room. I wanted to create a cozy West Coast vibe here in the East Coast inside a loft. It’s all about making it your own.
Here we have "HIS" bathroom. I'm totally in love with this penny tile 50s vibe with the classic white marble. The hint of black and aged brass gives it that saloon or cigar bar feel for his bathroom. Masculine and clean.

I decided a big cut out to bring in natural light and see the view out of the loft window would be great through the shower. The glass is coming this week and then I'll probably put optional shutters for privacy, if needed. Totally in love with the polished nickel minimalist look of this wall-mounted faucet by Kohler.
As you can see I did love my interior design days. This project has been so fun and really a wonderful outlet for my creativity.
See you next week,

American Dreaming

American Dreaming

I’m getting so excited for the summer holidays, who’s with me!? Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day are the epitome of summer fun. Nothing gets me more excited than to start thinking of and dreaming about travel plans, beautiful destinations and bathing suits.

As a lover of design and interior design, I love to see how people all across America are taking traditional themes and reusing them in modern ways.

Summers feel so patriotic with help from the good ol’ red, white and blue. This color theme sparks so much excitement and with Summer right around the corner I had to share some of my favorite images.

Pick-Me-Up

Pick-Me-Up

As the Spring season slowly closes and Summer creeps up on us, I think it’s a great time to get a little re-energized. The first few months of the year are typically a whirlwind (who feels me?) and a little pick-me-up is always a good thing.

I thought this week I would share some of my current favorite inspirational images and quotes. They say you teach what you want to learn, and these past few weeks I have really needed some of this inspiration.

Check out the below and let me know if anything is resonating with you. If it makes you feel good why not send to someone you know might need it too. Sharing is caring.

Tis’ the Season

Tis’ the Season

It’s that time of the year again…Wedding Season. Love is in the air along with lots of travels plans. Everyone knows how busy this time of year can be for weddings because of the warm and predictable weather which makes for beautiful backdrops among many other things.

I love helping brides find a special piece for their big day. It feels so special for me to be apart of such occasions year after year, it never gets old. I also really love helping brides pick out one-of-a-kind pieces to gift their bridesmaids on the big day.

Gifting jewelry for me is so perfect because it helps define the memory in a tangible thing. Just think, every time one of these bridesmaids looks at that bracelet or necklace they can remember how special the bride made them feel.

PARIS TRIPLE TRIANGLEREGENCY BRACELET

This year during wedding season I decided to run a little special, well actually a huge special. For every $250 you spend you get $50. This is perfect for when buying multiple gifts and allows for you to get a little extra bang for your buck. So don’t hesitate because this special isn’t forever. Check out a few of my favorite gift-able pieces and enjoy the season of love.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Like Mother, Like Daughter

As Mother’s Day is fast approaching (it’s next Sunday!) I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for all the moms out there, especially my own.

I have huge amount of respect for motherhood from witnessing my own mom doing everything she could to make sure I had all the opportunities to follow my dreams. She is the reason I’m here doing what I’m doing and loving every minute of it.

I also know it can be a thankless job at times but no matter what mothers push through fueled on the love for their children and the strengthen within.

Next Sunday is one of the few times it’s all about mothers. While we all get wrapped up in buying the perfect gift, I truly believe this is one of those holidays that is truly about the thought that counts, spending time more so than money is what really touches a mother’s heart. (While some jewelry doesn’t hurt either) Take the time this Mother’s Day to spend with your mom if it’s possible, I know I am.

This past year I’ve been so lucky to have my mom close and I’m soaking up every minute of it.

What to Wear Where

What to Wear Where

Now that we’re all thinking about our summer travel plans the next logical thing to think about is what to pack. Vacation can be hard to pack for when you aren’t sure of where you’re going or what exactly you’ll be doing. The weather plays a factor too but one way I stay stylish is through my accessories.

Jewelry is so easy to pack and can completely change an outfit. I have put together some of my favorite combinations depending on where I’m going. My favorite vacation of late has been upstate New York. Dressing for the country has brought me so much joy and new creativity to my looks.

Check out my ideas for a few other favorite spots.

Summer Lovin’

Summer Lovin’

Spring is here and has been here in south Florida. The weather is beautiful and now everyone starts looking forward to the next big thing…Summer Vacation!

As a kid I absolutely loved summer growing up in the Midwest. Even though I live in sunny South Florida for most of the year I still can’t help but get excited at the prospect of Summer.

I know it might feel a bit early but I’ve been doing some research about summer adventures in the U.S. and I thought you might want to see. This country really has some amazing places to visit and I hope to get around to some of them.  See some ideas below:

Portland, OR

This city has some of the best farmers’ markets around so you can literally taste summer. Also known for some of the country’s best microbrews, you can grab a beer and a bicycle and see some of the most beautiful waterfalls.

San Diego, CA

Known for it’s year-round beach weather, San Diego is more than just a famous zoo. It’s attractions like SeaWorld and Legoland make it perfect for families and couples alike.

Denver, CO

An oasis for outdoor lovers, this city is full of fun activities. During the summer the friendly locals are out and about enjoying the fabulous hiking and mountain biking along with the visitors.

Minneapolis, MN

While it isn’t known for it’s overall weather, this city makes Top 10 lists all the time for summer travel. It seems that the harsh winters make the locals a little stir crazy and once summer comes around there is lots to do outside.
