Spring Rewind

Spring Rewind

Can you believe it’s March?! Crazy how fast this year has been moving. I had to take a minute to sit back and revisit the year’s goals/dreams. I make sure to do that at least every quarter but sometimes it’s nice to do it at the beginning of a month, because there’s a real good energy around the first of the month.

The areas I love to look over and make sure I’m still wanting to accomplish the goal I set in the beginning of the year are typically: mind/body, home/family and work.

I know it’s hard sometimes because life in general is so overwhelming and looking at what you’re not doing is a little deflating, but I think coming to terms with what you can actually accomplish is quite liberating. When you’re super honest about the goals you made, you can actually start making them happen.

My favorite way to do this little ritual is to make it as fun as possible. I always set aside a few hours where I know I won’t be bothered or stressed by outside elements. I have my favorite snack and drink with me, maybe light a candle, and sit down in my favorite space in the house.

While it may sound silly, setting up your environment is really important for creative and mental work. It sets the tone and makes it easier to handle the task at hand. I have included some of my favorite motivational quotes that help me when I feel the need for a little pick-me-up.

I hope you enjoy and get closer to everything you want.

Till next week,

Goals vs. Dreams

Goals vs. Dreams

Happy New Year! (cue the confetti) I hope everyone had a sensational New Year and relaxing holiday with family and friends, we did! I know right now there is a lot of talk about resolutions and all that, but I wanted to bring up a new idea that I heard recently and decided to take to heart.

This is a resolution for your resolutions. Instead of thinking about them as goals, because that word gets thrown around so much and goals seem like these hard to attain tasks we add on to-do lists that never get done. What if we changed the thinking around goals to dreaming instead?

Doesn't that just sound so magical. As we become adults it seems the world tells us to stop dreaming, get your head out of the clouds and get “realistic.” It’s sad. We should never stop dreaming and we should all start dreaming big this year. 2018 is the year where we dream big and make things happen.

If you haven’t already, get out your phone, or a pen and piece of piece. Start writing down everything you have ever wanted to accomplish. Stop editing it because it’s too wild or not possible. Write it all down, get all the ideas out. Then tackle the ones that make you feel the most excited/scared.

Forget about goal-setting and lets create the lives of our dreams, literally. Here’s to a magical year ahead.

Off to HSN we go!

Off to HSN we go!

A couple of weeks ago, Anthony and I took a little trip to the west coast of Florida for a secret project we’ve been working on. I wasn’t able to share it until now. As you can guess by the title of this blog, we launched a new collection exclusively for HSN, Stephanie by Stephanie Kantis.

The Home Shopping Network is a place that most brands dream of being a part of. When we got the call that they wanted to collaborate, I couldn’t turn it down. But then I realized, this isn’t just about me creating a new collection but also getting in front of millions of people to sell on live TV, whoa!

When the time came we headed over to St. Petersburg, FL and made a beautiful trip out of it. We stayed at the charming and peaceful Vinoy Hotel, which helped calm my nerves. When we got to the studio everything fell into place beautifully. The team at HSN made me feel so at ease every step of the way.

Below I have attached the link to the video and some of the pieces from the collection. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Til Next Time,

MARCHing into 2017

MARCHing into 2017

Yes ladies and gentleman we are almost at the end of the third month of 2017. Can you believe it’s March?! And more unbelievable that it’s almost over?! If you’re anything like me, these past few months have flown by. I always make a little reminder in my calendar to take a beat around this time to conduct a little check-in.

I want to review my goals that I set in the first of the year, see where I am at. It’s easy to get lost in the day-to-day actions and routines that we have created. I have to look at what has been working for me and what hasn’t. Some of the questions I ask are:

Am I making any progress towards my goals?

What kind of progress?

Are my goals making me feel overwhelmed?

Do I still want to accomplish these goals?

It’s important to ask these questions, I have found, because in January we are all filled with hope and huge amounts of motivation. But now that we have settled into the year a little we can get a better grasp of how and if we can truly accomplish everything we set out to do.

A huge thing to remember here is not to beat yourself up about where you are with your resolutions. The awesome part about this little check-up is that it’s only March! You have nine more months to get your butt in gear and make those goals a reality. If you need some motivation to get that second wind below is a little video I found that has some great points about setting goals.

Enjoy!

Step It Up

Step It Up

Ahh January, the month for goal setting and radical changes. This month can be a tricky one for our confidence, because we make big lofty goals and sometimes we don’t follow through. I have been talking to some of my girlfriends and a lot of them are talking about up-leveling their career goals and really going for it in 2017. This makes me so happy, and I want to offer some of my personal advice around this topic.

But this won’t be advice about how to negotiate a better salary or different title. Today I want to talk about how we present ourselves in the office. I have always been a huge believer in dressing for the job you want not the job you have. If you want to be taken seriously, then show up for work like that.

I take a lot of pride in my appearance, I don’t think it’s superficial. Taking the time and energy to look and feel our best will pay off large dividends for our confidence, and don’t we all want to have more of that.

This doesn’t have to be a huge time commitment or cost a lot of money. I am talking about laying out your clothes beforehand, making sure they’re pressed and clean. When in a pinch I love to use my hair dryer to knock out any little creases. I also believe that lipstick is the ultimate upgrade. You will look immediately polished and professional in a shade that fits your coloring and style. It’s just about going that extra mile to show yourself and your boss you’re ready for the next step. You can do this.

All my best,
