Chain Reaction

Chain Reaction

The past few seasons and even years, earrings have been getting all the love. Statement earrings are everywhere and I love that because I love a statement anything. But I wanted to take a moment to really focus on chains, not statement necklaces but chains alone.

There is so much that can be done with chains via layering. They have the ability to be creative and fun like stacking rings. There is so much possibility to let your style shine through.

Layering chains in the summer feels so right, something about the simplicity in the different links and the movement. Summer is about flowing and not wearing pieces that are fixed and heavy. I have paired some of my favorite chains together here to give you an idea, but you really should experiment and use what you have.

A few things to remember…scale is important. Pick chains with varying sizes of links, it’s like mixing prints, you don’t want them to be the same.  Length of the chain is also key. You want there to be a difference in where the chains hit your chest. I would start with two chains but three is possible as well if they’re the right ones.

I hope this helps you mix up your summer style with ease and effortlessness.

Step It Up

Step It Up

Ahh January, the month for goal setting and radical changes. This month can be a tricky one for our confidence, because we make big lofty goals and sometimes we don’t follow through. I have been talking to some of my girlfriends and a lot of them are talking about up-leveling their career goals and really going for it in 2017. This makes me so happy, and I want to offer some of my personal advice around this topic.

But this won’t be advice about how to negotiate a better salary or different title. Today I want to talk about how we present ourselves in the office. I have always been a huge believer in dressing for the job you want not the job you have. If you want to be taken seriously, then show up for work like that.

I take a lot of pride in my appearance, I don’t think it’s superficial. Taking the time and energy to look and feel our best will pay off large dividends for our confidence, and don’t we all want to have more of that.

This doesn’t have to be a huge time commitment or cost a lot of money. I am talking about laying out your clothes beforehand, making sure they’re pressed and clean. When in a pinch I love to use my hair dryer to knock out any little creases. I also believe that lipstick is the ultimate upgrade. You will look immediately polished and professional in a shade that fits your coloring and style. It’s just about going that extra mile to show yourself and your boss you’re ready for the next step. You can do this.

All my best,

DYO: DESIGN YOUR OWN

DYO: DESIGN YOUR OWN
One of the questions I get all the time is about my design inspiration. People are interested in how I come up with ideas season after season. It’s hard to explain how and when creativity comes, but one thing I know for sure is everyone has it in them. I have always believed this and that is why I wanted part of my collection to allow for my customers to play designer.
Creating your own piece of jewelry is the ultimate in luxury. I have spent a lot of time crafting a system that allows everyone to mix and match pieces to fit their personal style needs. If you haven’t played around with our Versital collection, you should check that out HERE and we have an awesome video HERE with all the tips and tricks to making your very own piece of Stephanie Kantis jewelry, completely customized by you.
Till next week,

TIS' THE SEASON FOR LAYERING

TIS' THE SEASON FOR LAYERING

When Fall comes around I get so excited about layering. Not just with my wardrobe but with my jewelry. Layering up my pieces warms my heart the same way my sweaters do. I like to start with necklaces. Layering chains is easy if you follow a few guidelines. Keep it simple and go for texture differences. You don’t want to layer necklaces that are of the same chain family. It’s important to have visible differences in links. Also go for varying lengths, you want to be able to see each piece separately.

Here are some of my favorite combinations for layering. Try some out and play with the combination to make some of your own. Let your creativity take hold.
